Level pegging.

I went to pick up some of the guests for the tour and on our way to get the rest of the people we found an Otter in very choppy water. I dropped the first guests off with the hope they might be able to keep track of the beast. When we all got together there was no sign of the beast despite the number of people scanning the loch! It was a bit disappointing but we had the rest of the day to get everyone back onto level pegging. Our next stop produced a flock of about 50 Whimbrel flying through and a little bit further on we bagged a couple of Red-throated Diver flying over. Level pegging was restored about 10 minutes later when we came across 3 Otters together - cracking views were had as you can see from the photo.
That had got the main target out of the way for the guests and the rest of the day went quite smoothly. Plenty of GN Diver to see...
...a few Whimbrel were blending in to the shoreline...
...and the Eider put on a good display alongside the RB Mergs.
The showers were quite frequent so when heavy rain came through as we viewed the WT Eagle we thought it was best to move on. We had a couple of Golden Eagle, two Hen Harrier and a Whinchat during our lunch break. A reasonable amount of common birds were seen before our last stop of the day. Three Mountain Hares were seen but only two in the photo...
...a hundred strong flock of Golden Plover put on a superb display as they flew around and eventually landed quite close to us.
Plenty of Lapwing flying about, a single Snipe, 3 Linnet and two Black-tailed Godwit - a cracking day out!
