Tuck in

Most people will enjoy a sighting of a bird of prey so a female hen harrier gave us a good start to the day.
About 10 minutes later we were watching what a lot of people don't like about birds of prey. It was an awesome sight as far as I'm concerned as it is the natural way of things....a Grey Wagtail appeared on the shore and just as I was pointing it out one of the guests was pointing out another bird racing along the shore. The Sparrowhawk ended it's flight by taking the Grey Wagtail - it was there and then it was gone! The Sparrowhawk didn't leave but it had landed out of sight so we moved to get a better view...
...it didn't seem bothered by our presence...
...so we watched the feast...
...until breakfast was over.
A sighting like that can overshadow the other sightings through the day and it certainly stopped the camera coming out. The usual suspects were seen through the day with a decent Otter sighting...
...and a good Golden Eagle encounter being the highlights.
