Shooting stars.

A trio of us headed out for a day of taking photos of anything that moved....or stayed still! We all managed to get shots of a Common Snipe on a post before we met up - way to go.
Our first stop of the day produced an Otter which I took some distant shots of as I let the other guys go stalking it. A Meadow Pipit provided some entertainment while I waited but I couldn't get a clear shot. The pale Buzzard was having a snooze on an electric pole.
Four Red-breasted Merganser looked good in the shallows.
WT Eagle was checked out and a Common Whitethroat photographed. The Curlews are showing in pairs again - a sign the chicks are out of the nest and alert to danger.
Whinchat was bagged along with Meadow Pipit...
...and, after a search, Tree Pipit displaying.
The main target for the day had always been Otters and just after lunch we got the close encounter  - awesome!
Spotted Flycatcher took up some time...
...and we had a blast trying to photograph the House Martins and Swallows - not a bad effort and a great day out!
