A mixed bag

With family being the main concern this week there is not a lot to report. Sunday was a beautiful day and it was nice to see plenty of Scotch Argus on the wing.
Monday was my only tour of the week and once again the weather was kind. I finally got a look at the fledged WT Eagle from the regular nest site.
We dipped on the first attempt at Golden Eagle as a bit of low cloud hampered the viewing but we rectified that a bit later on. A mum Otter with two cubs provided a great deal of entertainment as we watched the youngsters splashing about in the water. Lunchtime gave us views of two Golden Eagle after we'd got good views of 1 Adder before disturbing another two. A fast approaching Tornado had everyone whipping round as a shout went up for 'big metal bird!'.
We'd picked up quite a bit of small stuff along the way but there had been a request for Hen Harrier. The best was definitely saved for last as I picked up a male Hen Harrier flying in with food for one of the youngsters! We got a fabulous display of the young birds flying around and perching up on the fence posts.
The only other highlight this week was on Wednesday afternoon when we did a spot of fishing and landed a 3 1/2 pound Sea Trout - superb!!
