An early shout.

Saturday the good weather continued - too hot but what can you do? Nothing startling seen through the day but good views of what we did get. The adult WT Eagle showed well with a Buzzard for company.

A nice SE Owl, good Hen Harrier sightings, a single Whimbrel, hassled by the Redshank...

...and an Otter right at the end of the day.
Sunday I was out early for a change. Nice views of the Short-eared Owls but no chance of photos as the sun wasn't over the horizon of the hills. A wander in the woods produced good views of Wood Warbler, Blackcap and Spotty Fly. Back out in the open a Curlew stood still long enough for a couple of shots.
A female Hen Harrier showed well hunting along the shore as the sun finally made an appearance...
...and a Mountain hare posed in the early morning light.

The Buzzard looks minute in comparison!

The lighting on the hare photo is very beautiful - love the sort of purply blues and his whiskers standing out! Gill
